CCTV Cameras

A collaboration with the Kerikeri Business Association, we have been working hard on identifying security needs in Kerikeri and Waipapa.  The Far North, through the organisation Building Safer Communities will be submitting a district wide application to the Proceeds of Crime fund for a connected network of CCTV’s so that the monitoring of towns can be efficient and effective with the same technology being used throughout.  Unfortunately, the fund opening data has been delayed until early next year so any improvements to the CCTV network through this won’t be realisable probably for 12-18 months.

As you are no doubt aware, the frequency of crime is on the increase, with many offences being done by young offenders.  Whilst it may seem a “petty” crime to them, the cost to business owners, residence and community groups is extensive.  The vandalism alone to the sculpture was over $27,000.  We therefore encourage as many business owners as possible to invest in CCTV cameras - your cameras can be connected to the existing network or can be made available only when a crime takes place in your area.

If you would like to enquire about CCTV and being connected to the network, we recommend you contact Northland CCTV.  You can also have your own independent setup and there are many cost effective options available, which can include two way audio, phone app monitoring etc.
