Developing the Vision

In 2019, a small group of volunteers held a series of community meetings to understand what the community thought of Kerikeri and what was important to those that live, work and visit the town. Through an interactive session, attended by over 300 people we quickly identified the things that made people happy, sad and mad as well as visioning what an ideal town would look like for our children. This work was then extended out into the community to get full engagement from everyone of all ages, backgrounds and walks of life.

The Process

Through this engagement process, analysis and subsequent workshops, we developed the following vision that was approved at a community meeting and has since been adopted by FNDC and the BOI Whangaroa Community Board.
